Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 19th, 2012 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sumner Cemetery, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Jack was born on April 5, 1940 in Atchison, KS. the son of H.R. and Marie (Sharpless) Cannon. He attended Central grade school and graduated from Atchison High School in 1958. He also had attended Benedictine College. He had worked at Safeway in Atchison before owning and operating his own construction company. Jack also was a truck driver and worked at the Benedictine College. Mr. Cannon also assisted with the construction of Mall Tower's working for Urban renewal. He was a Salvation Army Bell Ringer volunteer, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, the outdoors, farming and cutting wood.
He was married to Carol Vessar on Sept. 16, 1960 in Atchison, KS. Mrs. Cannon survives of the home. Additional survivors include; a daughter; Jane Paolucci, Atchison, KS, a son; John (Sharon) Cannon, Louisburg, KS, a sister; Martha Gleichman, Northville, MI, five grandchildren; Jake, Jaclyn, and Jordan Paolucci, and Catherine and Ian Cannon and two great grandchildren.
