Patricia A. McGettigan Clay, 63, of the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby, an involved volunteer, died Jan. 29 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Born in Southwest Philadelphia, she lived in Drexel Hill for 42 years. She was a 1956 graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, Philadelphia, and received a bachelor's degree from Neumann College in 1984 after raising seven children. Mrs. Clay was involved in various volunteer organizations including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Garrettford Elementary Home and School Association, and St. Francis Country House. She was daughter of the late James J. and Anna C. McLaughlin McGettigan and sister of the late Daniel McGettigan and Thomas McGettigan.
Survivors: Husband, John M. Clay Sr.; daughters, Kathleen M. Boyden of Virginia, Patricia A. Hollenback of Aston, Christine M. Keck of Drexel Hill; sons, David J. Clay of Phoenixville, Dennis J. Clay of Denver, Pa., John M. Clay Jr. of Atco, N.J., Patrick Clay of Dallas, Pa.; sisters, Helen Gormley of Levittown, Winifred McFadden of Philadelphia, Edith Monahan of Levittown, Anna "Babe" O'Brien of Calif., Mary Selfridge of Mantua, N.J.; brothers, Francis McGettigan of Bucks County, James McGettigan of North Wildwood, N.J.; 14 grandchildren. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3422 Dennison Ave., Drexel Hill.
Visitation: 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30-10 a.m. Monday, Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby.
