MOUNT HOREB - Walter A. Post, age 78, died unexpectedly on Saturday, 3 Jun 1989. Mr Post was born 13 Aug 1910 in the Town of Perry. His parents were the late Eugene and Bertha (Bowar) Post. He was married to Fern Garfoot on 27 Dec 1941. He was a veteran of World War II. He was employed by the U. S. Postal Service for 37 years working as a mail clerk, carrier, postmaster for the last 12 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St Ignatius Catholic Church. Survivors include: His wife, Fern; a son, Todd, of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Ann (Ted) Heidenreich of Sussex and Karen (David) Cowles of Oakland, California; two granddaughters, Shelly O'Brien of Milwaukee and Tracy Heidenreich of Sussex; six brothers, Francis, Arthur, Jerome, Edward and Harold "Bud" all of Mount Horeb, and Le Roy of Anchorage, Alaska; and two sisters, Rosella (Milton) Swingen and Loretta Schmidt, both of Mount Horeb. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene, in 1979. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jun 6, at 10:00 a.m. from the Ellestad Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. from St Ignatius Catholic Church, Father R. J. Brophy officiating, with interment in Mount Horeb Union Cemetery.
