Elizabeth "Eliza" Meacham born 23 Nov 1789 in Fair Haven, Rutland, Vermont married Seth Bassett of Milton, Massachusetts, son of Hayward Bassett 1754 – 1844 and Lois Damon Bassett 1757 – 1813. Seth is a descendant of William Bassett who came on the ship "Fortune" in 1621. They married on 27 Dec 1812 at Bridgewater, Windsor, Vermont and were the parents of at least three children: Harriet Bassett born 1825, Rufus J Bassett born abt 1835 and William Bassett born abt 1842.

Location of headstone for her husband Seth Bassett is unknown, however he is buried next to her.
