Mrs. Ellis was born in Chauncey, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Preston. She married Mr. Ellis there 38 years ago, and eight years later they moved to Athens. For the past 20 years they had operated the furniture business. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
They had no children. Mrs. Ellis' only brother, D. O. Preston, died about 25 years ago.
Private funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at the home by the Rev. Dr. A. Y. Wilcox. Burial will be made in the West Union Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the home any time Tuesday.
