WILLIAMSBURG - Dulcie Winifred Clarke Campbell, 86, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sept. 29, 2012.

Dulcie was the daughter of the late Herbert and Gertrude Clarke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Campbell; and son, David Campbell.

Dulcie was born in Devizes Wiltshire, England, on Jan. 9, 1926. She came to the United States in 1946 and lived in Pennsylvania prior to moving to Virginia. In 1947, she moved to Virginia and had resided in Williamsburg ever since. Dulcie retired from the Jamestown Yorktown Foundation in 1994, after 37 years of employment. After her retirement, she volunteered at the veteran's hospital in Hampton. She was a charter member of Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 4639 in Williamsburg. Dulcie was also member of The Toano Woman's Club and of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents of Hampton Branch. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Dulcie leaves behind a son, Herbert O. Campbell; two grandchildren, Jason O. Campbell and Denise M. Hockaday; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie and Samantha; one great great-grandchild, Lillie; niece, Donna Zuzek (Frank) of Pennsylvania. In England, she is survived by two nephews and a niece.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
