Funeral services for Herman John (Poppy) Sonsel, 96, of Huntsville will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Father Stephen Payne officiating. Interment will follow with a 1:30 p.m. graveside service in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2003 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mr. Sonsel was born on February 17, 1907 in Moulton, Texas and passed away on September 20, 2003 in Huntsville, Texas. He was a retiree of Hughes Tool Company and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He is survived by his daughter, Jane Ann Sonsel; sons, Vernon Sonsel, Larry Sonsel and wife Kathy, and David Sonsel and wife Peggy; grandchildren, Luke and Jake Sonsel, Missy Sonsel, John Sonsel, Margaret Ann Buckner, and Christina Sonsel; great grandchildren, Abby Buckner and Keli Sonsel. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Pallbearers: Vernon Sonsel, David Sonsel, Larry Sonsel, Luke Sonsel, Jake Sonsel, and John Sonsel.
