SOPHIA - Ramona Yvonne Ballard Hatfield, 68, of Sophia, Raleigh County, died May 16, 1997, in Memorial Division, CAMC, after a short illness.
She was a native of Sophia, a homemaker and a member of Sophia United Methodist Church.
Surviving: sons, Gary of Sophia, Roland of Crab Orchard; daughter, Robin Rutkowski of Culpeper, Va.; brothers, Elbert "Cotton" Ballard of Beckley, Lannie Ballard of Natural Bridge, Va., Larry Ballard of Falls Church, Va.; sisters, "Kewpie" Smith of Sophia, Drema Sutton of Falls Church, Felonise Phillips of Long Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sophia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Schrade, the Rev. Sterling Morgan and the Rev. James Compton officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley, and one hour prior to service at the church.
