Gloria Kennedy Hill, 79, died Monday, October 9, 2006. She is survived by her dearest friend Lola Kiser, her beloved cat Taffy, cousins Merrill Horton Sr., Merrill Horton Jr. Mary Lee Horton, Frank Horton and Marsha Horton, Kate Mitchell, Carl Kennedy Jr. and Paul Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents Harmer and Kate Kennedy, and grand parents Ernest and Mary Augusta Kennedy.

Gloria was born in Clayton, AL on May 18, 1927. George Wallace taught her in Sunday school. She was a graduate of Huntington College and taught English in Dothan, Gadsden and Michigan. Later Gloria served as Administrative Assistant at First Christian Church in Birmingham, She was also an active member of Valley Christian Church in Birmingham.

Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m. on October 12, 2006 at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL. Graveside services will be at 1pm at Glenwood Cemetery in Fort Payne, AL. Memorials may be given to the Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angle Canyon Road, Kanab Utah 84741 or to another animal rescue group.
