Marjorie L. Smith Haddock, 65,of Palatka, died Sunday, February 11, at her residence following a long illness
She was born and raised in Palatka and had been living here for the past 7 years coming from Gainesville. She was of the Baptist faith. She was formerly employed by the Circle R Restaurant in Hawthorne and had worked in home health care for many years. She enjoyed flower arranging, quilting, and crafts. Her homemade quilts are in many homes all over the country.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude R. Faulk;
her step-mother; Adus Smith; a niece; two nephews and one great nephew.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Bill Billings of Gainesville, Cheryl Jernigan of Alachua and Pam and Earl Clemons of Gainesville; her father, Ira S. Smith of Palatka; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris and Bern Wells of New Braunfels, Texas,Iris Waldock of Interlachen and Rose E. Sweat of Palatka; nine grandchildren,Christy King,Wesley Everson,Jack Billings,Brad,Kenneth,Richard,Melissa and Elizabeth Jernigan and Joshua Clemons;three great grandchildren,Ashley Jernigan,Brittany and Jimmy King and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service and video tribute will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Masters Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Griffis officiating, interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
