UPLAND - Gladys Ballinger, 96, formerly of Colonial Oaks nursing home, passed away Friday at 2:49 p.m. in Marion General Hospital.

Myrna Gladys was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Smith) Gregg. She attended Upland High School.

Mrs. Ballinger had been a homemaker, residing in the Upland area since 1922. She was a member of Jefferson Christian Church, where she also was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothea McVicker, Gas City, and Phyllis (Robert) McCoy, Marion; a sister, Ferne (Glen) McQuiston, Marion; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grand- children; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Hall; and three husbands, Chester Waggy, Waldo Himelick and Harl Ballinger.

Services Tuesday in Jones-Smith Funeral Home, 259 N. Main St., with the Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial is in Jefferson Cemetery.
