FT. LAUDERDALE, FL -- Alice L. Murray, 75, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Lowell, died Friday, August 31st at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, January 25, 1937, the daughter of the late James H. and the late Alice E. (Kilmartin) Murray, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She then went on to graduate from Regis College with a Bachelor's Degree and Boston College with a Master's Degree.
Alice was a teacher at Lowell High School before she left for Japan as a civilian Guidance Counselor with the United States Air Force. Upon her return to Massachusetts, she was employed by the Winchester School System as a very highly respected guidance counselor for many years.
Among her many activities, Alice enjoyed playing golf at the Vesper Country Club in Massachusetts and the Oak Tree Country Club in Florida, and was involved with many charitable associations.
Alice is survived by two brothers, Joseph F. Murray of Delray Beach, FL, and James H. Murray and his wife, Louise, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a niece, Susan L. Frazier and her husband, Tom, of New York City, NY; a nephew, James B. Murray and his wife, Allison, of Southport, CT; and three grandnephews, Jack Murray, Ryan Murray, and Matt Murray.
