Frank W. Aerts Funeral Held Saturday, Nov. 22
At St. Francis Church, Center, funeral services were held Nov. 22 at 9:30 a.m. for Frank W. Aerts, 74, who died Nov. 20 at the David City Hospital after an illness of five days.
The Rev. C. J. Marrama and Msgr. A. J. Lisko officiated.
Pallbearers were Eugene and Harold Phillips, Gilbert Theewen, Theodore Rutten Gerald and Francis Vanderheiden, all nephews of Mr. Aerts.
Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery, Center.
Mr. Aerts, son of Theodore and Mary Aerts, was born August 27, 1884, at David City, and was a lifetime resident of Butler County. He was married to Mary Theewen, Jan. 5, 1909, at St. Francis Church, Center. Eleven children were born to them. The family lived on a farm until retiring to David City where they have since made their home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son James, who died in infancy and a brother, Martin.
Those surviving him are his wife, Mary, four sons, Theodore, Leo, William and Frank Jr., and daughters, Mrs. Albin (Cecilia) Svoboda, Mrs. Wm. (Helen) Riha, Mrs. Wm. (Dorothy) Samek, Mrs. Arthur (Elizabeth) Kosch, Mrs. Joe (Henrietta) Hladky all of David City and Mrs. Leonard (Darlene) Darnell of Sargeant, Minn. He is also survived by 32 granchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Leo Aerts of Banks, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Herb of Forest Grove, Ore., and Mrs. Pete Vanderheiden of David City.
Relatives attending the services from away were from Storm Lake, Iowa; Sargent, Minn.; Lincoln, Cedar Rapids, Petersburg, Columbus, Brainard, Dwight, Bellwood and Richland.
