KINGMAN - Helen Richardson, 82, died Aug. 31, 1999, at her home in rural Kingman. She was born April 25, 1917, at Waverly, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Ketterer Kunkel. A longtime resident of the Kingman community, she was a retired nurse. She belonged to Kingman Christian Church, was a former board member of the Kingman County Council on Aging and was an Army Nurse Corps veteran of World War II. On Jan. 12, 1946, she married Thomas O. Richardson at Clinton, Iowa. He died Aug. 27, 1989. Survivors include: three sons, George N., Naples, Italy, William E., Nashville, Tenn., and Rany T., Hutchinson; a daughter, Sophia Jo Johnston, Enid, Okla.; four brothers, Charles Kunkel, Burlington, Eddie and Fritz Kunkel, both of Waverly, and Orvis, Garnett; two sisters, Elsie Schmidt, Great Bend, and Ida McMillin, Tega Bay, S.C.; and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert; and a sister, Sophia Lindsey. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kingman Christian Church, with Pastor Matt Keith presiding. Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. today, with the family will received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Burial will be in Cleveland, Kansas, Cemetery.
