Frances M. Johns, 82, Havelock, N.C., formerly of Jennett, died Tuesday in Craven Regional Medical Center, New Bern, N.C.
Born Nov. 15, 1924, in Groves Summitt, she was a daughter of the late Donald T. and Asenath B. Groves Smith. She was married to L. Henry Johns. He preceded her in death.
She was a registered nurse at Frick Hospital until her retirement.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant, the American Association of Retired Persons, and had been involved with the Boy Scouts of America.
She is survived by three sons: Robert L. Johns and David A. Johns, both of Miami Fla., and William D. Johns of Havelock., N.C.; three daughters: Lois M. Johns of Havelock, N.C., Mrs. Wayne (Dianne M.) Estridge of Fairfield, Ohio, and Donna K. Kahn of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Richard L. Smith and William C. Smith, both of Falls Creek; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Burkett.
Burial was in the Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.
