Obitiary created by Judy Winstead~In memory of Johnny FIND A GRAVE ID 46801574 - Mary was married to Ben Scearce and they had three children. Jerry Lynn, Fern and Judy Ann.
Mom lived 13 months after my sister comitted suicide. She died from lymphatic cancer.
Mom had been saved at an early age. She was a member of Thorn Hill Missionary Babtist Church.
She was truly a great lady. When we were small children, she washed and ironed for people so we would have enough food to eat. She worked in tobacco and factories that made cabinet's. It was hard to make end's meet alot of time's. I don't ever remember her complaining about not having good clothes, she alway's wore what someone gave her. She was a great mother and grandmother.
Her life on earth was short, she died at 48, but she left us a legacy of love and we were taught early on to try to help the less fortunate, and love each other. Life was not easy for her.
Mom, I love you and I'll meet you in Heaven. Watch over Johnny. Love, Judy.

Mary Scearce (9528408) Suggested edit Alessandro Find A Grave #49502412 : Can you please add the following writing in Mary Francis Scearce's bio? It was originally written by her daughter Judy Winstead in her virtual cemetery "My Grandparents" and adapted by me: Mary Francis (née Young) Scearce was a daughter of Tilmon and Mary Mollie (née Young) Young, they had same surname but no relation. Tilmon was killed in a shoot out in Gray, Kentucky in 1933; Mollie died in 1944 from gangrene that set up after a miscarriage. Mary Francis was raised by her mother's sister and brother-in-law, Lewis and Addie Mae (née Young) Leffew.
