Robert "George" Adams, 62, died Monday, Sept. 8, 1997, in a Wichita Falls hospice center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Dr. Finis Beauchamp of Lamar Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta, Texas.
Mr. Adams was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Wichita Falls, where he was a lifetime resident. He and Elizabeth Bradley were married July 8, 1955. He was employed by Amsco Steel and was a shear brake operator for Burcamp Steel Mfg. Co. He was a member of Lamar Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 4128. He served in the Texas National Guard 49th Armored Deivision for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Marvin Wayne Adams of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Cynthia Renee Gwynn and Chyrle Denese Cobb, both of Wichita Falls; a brother, Nathan Adams of Wichita Falls; four sisters, Clara Bell Fields, Sadie Owen and Jame Humphrey, both of Henrietta, Texas, and Ruthie Miller of Wichita Falls; and a grandchild.
