My Grandfather

Son of Arthur Snoots & Gladys Coulter, and stepson of Roger Allen . Husband of Juanita Kuykendall, who died in 1999. Father of Lawrence Jr. and Barry Snoots, and Carrie Browning. Grandfather of Jennifer, Jessica and David Snoots, and Barry, Krystin and William Browning. He is also survived by several cousins and an uncle, Bernard Taylor.

In 2009, Pop would've been very happy to welcome his first great-grandchild, Krystin's son Carter. He has now been joined by his sister Hannah.

My grandad was a US Navy veteran of "the Big one...WW2" (as he liked to say), where he served in the Pacific. He was really patriotic. He worked for many years for Baltimore Gas & Electric Company and belonged to the Masons & the American Legion. He really enjoyed fishing, his motorhome, Kate Smith, beer (he was buried with some Heineken!), his easy-chair and watching tv, especially westerns and action movies. He did a lot of travelling too, but tried to avoid going north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Pop had a good sense of humor and let his grandkids get away with a lot of misbehaving. He enjoyed a good dirty joke! He'd really get laughing. The funniest thing Pop always did was at breakfast time. Granny would make some of her famous pancakes & sausage gravy, and as she finished the pancakes she'd put them on a plate in the middle of the table. When she turned back to the stove, Pop would take one off the stack and *SMACK*, hit me and my cousin Barry right across the face with it!

He was the coolest granddad ever.
