Died from gunshot wound to the lung.
Private CO K Regiment 3 S.M. at Ironton, Missouri
Frederick Caby Sr had 2 children with an unknown wife in Germany - This Frederick and Wilhemenia (no record of where she was buried...still working on her)
His younger children (Daniel, Julia, William Henry, Adeline, Dora, Arick and William Frederick) were with wife Christena (b Germany) and all born in the US according to census records. Yes, the youngest is named after 2 brothers. We've all just come to accept this. Three years after Frederick Sr. died, Christena had another child, Catherine Caby. No, she wasn't Frederick's Sr. child....her family has no idea who the father would have been & probably won't unless they do some deep digging with DNA. After Frederick Sr died, his property was sold. Christena bought it. After Christena died, it went to her children, including Catherine. This Frederick & his sister Wilhemenia went to court to file motion to deny Catherine from laying claim to any property owned by their late father (and father of the rest of Christena's children) This was in 1871 in Bollinger county courts and one of the documents we use to verify who Frederick Sr.'s children were.
