Gary Loyd Brooks was born March 17, 1950 on a farm near Willow OK to James and Syble LaVita (Thompson) Brooks, and passed away Tuesday July 10, 2012 in Sioux Falls South Dakota at the age of 62.
He grew up in the Willow OK area and attended school at Carter OK. He graduated from Elk City High School. Gary worked in the oilfield until the mid 1980's when he became a race horse trainer in Oklahoma City. Later he became an over the road truck driver for many different companies until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons; Jeremy Brooks and his wife Pam of Oklahoma City OK, and Chris Brooks of Oklahoma City, two daughters; Kylee Wilson of El Reno OK, and Cyndie Roach and her husband Wayne of Chickasha OK, one brother Larry Slack of Oklahoma City, and ten grandchildren.
