Anna Shisler was born in Ross County, Ohio and removed with her parents to Union county and was married to Jacob Reed. Of this union eleven children were born, four sons and seven daughters. four of the daughters survive their fond mother. She became a member of the Church of Christ sixty-two years ago. With Her husband and family she came to Iowa in 1851 and lived in Mahaska and Keokuk Counties until her death in Springfield.

OBITUARY of Anna Shisler Reed:
"At Springfield, Iowa, May 30, 1899, Anna Reed, aged 81 years, 10 months, 7 days. Deceased was born in Ross County, Ohio, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Jacob Reed, De. 24, 1935 in that state, and lived in Ohio until they moved to Iowa in 1852. They first settled in Mahaska County where they lived for a year to two and then moved to this county and made Springfield their home. At the time of her death, she left four daughters; Mrs. Lydia Mackey of this City; Matilda Knox and Alfretta Garrett of Washington township; and Lacy Hasty of Ottumwa."

Calvin, Jane, Ann, Eliza, Lydia, Mary, Lucy Ann, Matilda, M. B., William, and Alfretta.
