Timothy J. Miles went to be in heaven on July 3, 2011, after a long hard-fought battle of cystic fibrosis. He was 41. He joined his grandma, Lottie Ballantyne, and other grandparents, Henry and Jennie Verwolf. He owes his life to his mom, Jennie Miles, who passed away from cancer on July 6, 2010.
He was born on July 30, 1969, in Bozeman to Joe Miles of Belgrade and Pony, and Betty Poelman of Helena. Truthfully, if it wasn't for Jennie, Tim would not have lived as long through his childhood. During his childhood battling CF, there were a lot of trips to Denver to see the doctors. Tim was told he would not live past the ages of 15, 18, 21, 25, then after that they quit giving timelines.
He lived in Billings most of his childhood, until he moved to Pony in 1986. He attended junior high and some high school in Harrison, then he attended Job Corps in Ogden, Utah, in 1990.
He settled down back in Billings in 1991, where he met his wife, Rhonda, his true love of 16 years. The doctors also told him that he wouldn't be able to have children, but in 1997 he proved them wrong again and they had a son, Austin. Austin and Tim did everything together.
He also had a black lab names Molly and a chocolate Lab named Kodiak, "Kodi," that he loved dearly.
Tim was an avid hunter and fisherman and he carried on his legacy with Austin. The best hunting trip was in 2009 with Austin, on a guided deer hunt to Ekalaka with Leonard Livingston of Beaverhead Rendezvous. He loved to walleye fish at Fort Peck with his good friend, Chuck (Linda) Granholm of Billings, who taught him how to fish for walleye. He caught several big walleye on Fort Peck, and he loved to go to the Tongue River Reservoir during the crappie bite. He also loved to go to Pony and visit his parents.
Tim would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Robert "Spike" Pueringer and his nurses, especially Mike.
Tim also enjoyed going to his favorite nephew's – Cody Connolly "Double C" – baseball and foot ball games. He rarely missed a game that Cody played. He supported him on anything that he did.

He is also survived by numerous cousins in Billings and New Zealand. He had many friends all over the state of Montana, along with a good friend, Don Keever, who helped Tim with his hunting dreams.
