Ronald L. Allender, 69, of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly June 22, 2012 at Union Hospital.

He was born in Indianapolis, IN October 17, 1942 the son of Wallace and Helen (Hardin) Allender. Ron was raised in Mooresville, Indiana and graduated from Mooresville High School. He also graduated from Purdue University, in 1972, with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering. Ron worked at Master Glass and Color, in Indianapolis for a short time. In 1973 he purchased Tracer Trailers, on South State Road 59, from Don and Katherine French. During his ownership he served an international clientele which included Brooke Shields, A.J. Foyt, Ronnie Milsap, David Allen Coe and Buck Owens. Ron retired from trailer manufacturing in 1987. After a brief retirement Ron began a new career as commercial builder.

In his free time Ron enjoyed golfing and dancing. Ron and his wife Faye also enjoyed spending winters in Florida traveling internationally as well as traveling across the country in their motorcoach.

After suffering a major heart attack 6 years ago Ron focused his attention to treating his heart condition with stem cell therapy. This endeavor has led Ron and his wife to Bangkok, Thailand for experimental therapy followed by a two year clinical trial in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ron was preceded in death by his father Wallace "Wally" Allender and a wife Margie Allender.

Ron is survived by his wife Faye Cowan – Allender; mother: Helen Allender; sons: Greg Allender and wife Angela of North Judson, IN and Bryan Allender and wife Denice of Brazil; grandchildren: Madalyn, Emma, Hannah, Sam, Grace, and Zachary and a brother Michael Allender and wife Elizabeth of Brazil as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

Funeral Information

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, In 47834, Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 7:00pm with Rev. Doddie Stone officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4pm until time of services. At his request cremation will follow.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the University of Utah Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
