Samuel Specht is the son of Andrew & Rebecca (Pisel) Specht. Samuel married 1. Susan Kimmel.

Only obit for Samuel Specht was on Ancestry.com newspapers. It only had Samuel Specht is dead at McHenry, Garrett County, age 88 years. He was a pioneer farmer & lumberman. Source from The News (Frederick, Maryland) dated March 24, 1902.

1-Rebecca Specht, born July 18, 1843, Maryland and died March 11, 1894, Garrett Co., Maryland. Married Jonas Specht Glotfelty.

2-Lucinda Specht, born May 23, 1845 and died Nov. 1, 1918. Married Frank Suter (born Feb. 6, 1833 and died Oct. 11, 1910).

3-Samuel P. Specht, born 1855 and died 1915. He married 1. Mary E. (last name unknown). 2. Emma Florence Glotfelty (born May 4, 1873, Garrett Co. Maryland and died 1956, Garrett Co., Maryland). Samuel Specht died suddenly following a choking spell. He had been ill. He was 59 years old. He had been active in politics and church. He is survived by his widow, one daughter Mrs. R. T. E. Mosser of Deer Park. The Fredrick Post (Frederick, Maryland), Jan. 15, 1915)

4-Lavina Alberta Specht, born June 24, 1858 and died April 14, 1942. Married Adam S. Sell. I have a copy of her death certificate. She was born in Garrett Co., Maryland. She died at Thomas, Turner Co. West Va.

5-Susan E. Specht, born June 16, 1850, Oakland, Maryland and died April 24, 1931, Oakland, Maryland. Married Brison Welch (born Feb. 20, 1844 and died June 4, 1909).

6-Jacob E. Specht. Have not found anything about him but was named as a son in Samuel Specht's will.

All the children are buried in Flatwood Cemetery, Accident, Garrett Co., Maryland.

Samuel married 2. Mary E. Bolyard in 1894 in Preston Co., West Virginia. From the marriage index 1785-1971. Mary Specht died Dec 31, 1913 in Eglon, Preston Co., West Virginia, aged 88 years (making her estimated birth year 1825). Film No. 827559, Digital Folder No. 4229115, Image No. 276 (Source: County Records, Reference No. sp56).

He also married 3. Eliza Moore, but I could not find any information on that marriage.

The Will of Samuel Specht

In the orphan court of wills of Garrett Co., Maryland, in the estate of Samuel Specht No. 927, filed 7/1/1902.

Know all by these present that I Samuel Specht of the town of McHenry in the county of Garrett and the State of Maryland considering of uncertainty of this life and being of sound mind and memory and memory do make declare and publish this my last will and testament.

First - I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary A. the use and improvement and income of dwelling house these appurtenance situated in the town of Elgon, Preston County, West Virginia, to have and to hold the same to her and during her natural life.

Second - I give and bequeath unto to my son Jacob E. Specht the reversion or remainder of my dwelling house and land appurtenance as above named situated in the town of Elgon, county and state, and all profit income and advantage may result there from and there after the decease of my beloved wife Mary A.

Third - In the event of the death of my son Jacob E. Specht before the demise of my wife Mary the reversion in the remainder of my dwelling house land heirs appurtenance names stated in town county and state as to be sold by him divided share and share alike to the following heirs, Sarah Mussen, Rose A. Franklin (or Frank; hard to make the name out) Lucinda Suter, Susan E. Welch, Mary J. Fulmer, Samuel P. Specht and Lavina Sell.

Fourth - I do nominate and appoint my son Samuel P. Specht of Deer Park above named and county and state to be executor of this last will and testament in testimony here of I have unto set my hand and seal and published my decree this to be my last will and testament in presence of us who at this request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our name and witness hereto.
