Dale Henry Clobus , 84, of 944 Spruce Ridge Drive, Stuart, Fla., former owner of Commercial Printing Co., died the morning of April 1, 2005, in Jameson Care Center, New Castle, PA.

Born June 13, 1920, in Butler, he was a son of Frank C. and Clara Clobus. His wife, Elizabeth Jane Clobus, preceded him in death in August 1999.

Mr. Clobus owned Commercial Printing from 1962 through 1984, having taken it over from his father, Frank, who started the company in 1931.

Mr. Clobus was a graduate of New Castle High School and attended the London School of Printing and the England Royal Engineers School in Wales.

He served as a staff sergeant in London in the Army during World War II.

He enjoyed boating, traveling and fishing. He was a member of the Lawrence Club, the Elks clubs of Stuart and New Castle, the Power Squadron of Stuart, the Amara Shriners of Palm Beach Gardens in Florida, and the U.S. Armed Forces Rowing Team in London.

He was past commodore of the Coconut Point Yacht Club in Stuart, past King Lion of the Walmo Lions Club and past president of Lawrence Caravan 15 Syria Temple.

He also had 50 years of service with the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle.

Mr. Clobus attended the Presbyterian Church of Hobe Sound [?], Fla., and was a longtime past member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Neshannock Township.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert D. and Sandy of Fort Lauderdale, Gary A. of New Castle and Martin C. and Maryett Clobus , also of New Castle; a sister, Clara Henderson of Tryon, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road.

A service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Andrew Jillson of Northminster Presbyterian Church officiating.
