Ruby Ann Droll, longtime resident of Hills died Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2004, at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church with the Reverend Doug Cue officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery near Hills. Visitation will be from 1 to 6pm Sunday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service – Hills Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ruby's memory to Iowa City Hospice, Hills First Responders, Sharon Center United Methodist Church, or Hills Community Center. Online condolences may be sent for Ruby's family through our website @www.gayandciha.com.

Ruby was born in Cedar County, Iowa the daughter of C.R. and Pearl (Frymoyer) Hawk. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1930, attended Muscatine Junior College, A. & M. College in Stillwater, OK, and the State University of Iowa from 1947 until 1949. During World War II, she served in the United States Navy as an officer at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD.

She married Albert F. Droll. August 28, 1948 in Skokie, Illinois. Albert died March 10, 1975. She has wintered for the past twenty-one years at her home in Mesa, AZ.

Ruby was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, Hills Town and Country Club, charter member o the University of Iowa Athletic Club, a fifty-year member of the West Liberty Royal Neighbors of America, Iowa City (Lady Elks) Club No. 590, Mercy Hospital Seniors, The Waves National and Waves local Five Seasons No. Unit 53 and the Walter Johnson Post No. 721 of the American Legion.

Ruby has no immediate family, but many relatives and friends that will miss a dear lady.
