Mrs. Charbonneau, age 80 years, passed away Friday June 15, 2012 at Niche Adult Foster following a lingering illness with her family at her side. She and her twin sister Ruby were born in Bay City to the late Ellsworth & Anna (Jean) Starkweather on December 8, 1931 and were raised from the age 11 by their aunt & uncle Lorraine & Felix (Pun) Jean. Ruth married Kenneth Charbonneau on March 31, 1951 at Visitation Church. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2009. She was retired as a bus driver from Bangor School Districtin 1974 and served 18 years as Bangor Township Treasurer until 1992. She was a member of Our Lady of Visitation, served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the MTA, enjoyed bowling and being with her family.
She is survived by her children Kenneth "Chum" & Connie Charbonneau, Randy & Anne Charbonneau, Michael & Kelly Charbonneau, Brian & Amy Charbonneau and Mark & Terri Charbonneau; 10 grand children; 10 great grandchildren; her sister Ruby & Clayton Everson; brother in law & sister in law Russell & Mary Charbonneau. She was predeceased by 3 brothers Charles & Alice Starkweather, Raymond & jean Starkweather and Arthur & Millie Starkweather; brother in laws and sister in laws Sonny & Betty Charbonneau, Myrtle "Sy" & Frank Walczak and Dorothy & Andy Bouza.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday June 19, 2012 at am from Our Lady of Visitation Church with Rev Fr. Stephen J. Fillon presiding with entombment in Calvary Mausoleum. Friends may call at Rivertown Funeral Chapel on Monday from 1 pm to 8 pm. A Vigil Service will be held at 7 pm on Monday evening. On Tuesday Mrs. Charbonneau will lie in state at the church from am until time of Mass. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Golden Horizons-Adult Day Care or a charity of your choice.
