Born February 9, 1912 in Clear Creek, Carbon County, Utah to George and Lodema Mower Shepherd.
He married May Vance, July 1, 1933 in Manti, Utah; marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He worked in the mines in Carbon County, moving to Lehi, Utah in 1947. He worked for Geneva Steel for 27 years.
He was a member of the LDS Church, where he served in many leadership positions. He was a temple worker in the Provo Temple. He and his wife served a mission for the LDS Church in the Florida-Tallahassee Mission, November 1976 to May 1978.
Survivors: Wife, American Fork; two daughters, one son, Mrs. Don (LaRaine) Littleford, Orem; Mrs. Edward (Sharon) Sorenson, Provo; G. Kent Shepherd, Lehi; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fay Hawley, Spokane, Washington; Mrs. Dan (Georgia) Coons, Murray.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., American Fork 16th Ward Chapel, 165 No. 350 West, American Fork, Utah. Viewing at the Wing Mortuary, Lehi, Utah Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and at the 16th Ward one hour before services. Interment: Lehi City Cemetery.
