On this date 35 years ago -- May 6, 1979 -- rubber-armed Pedro Borbon allowed one run while pitching six innings in relief and went 2-for-3 at the plate as the Cincinnati Reds mauled the Houston Astros 17-5. They don't make 'em like Pedro anymore.

I didn't realize that you had left us. I will never forget the 1973 NL Championship series where you bite into a Mets cap and tore the bill off. A fiery competitor. Rest well Pedro.

You were part of something special, that Big Red Machine. We could count on you to nail it down and bring home the win. You will live in the hearts of Reds fans always.

Pedro you were one of my favorite pitchers with the Cincinnati Reds. I grew up watching the Big Red Machine and loved going to RiverFront Stadium to see you pitch and Johnny Bench catch. My favorite memory was when you bit and tore the bill of the hat off the Mets player during a full on bench clearing fight. What a time that was. Peace be to you and your family and you will not be forgotten! God Speed....

You were an outstaning member/pitcher of the "BIG RED MACHINE" in the 70's. I can still recall you in the 1975 World Series when you beat the Red Sox. RIP Pedro.....
