Elizabeth was married to James Connelly until his death in 1974. They had four children, Dennis, Bettymae, Richard and Charity. Betty was born in North Dakota and moved to Chicago with her sister Marion in the late 1930's. It is there where she met Jim and made a home with him in the old Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. In the early 1940's they built a home in Olympia Fields and opened a small coffee shop at the 211th St. IC station in 1952.
