The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama Monday, September 19, 1938. John G. Baker Buried At Charity Cemetery. Fayetteville, Tenn. Services for John G. Baker, 71, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Slayten, on the Huntsville highway Thursday, were conducted Friday at the Charity Missionary Baptist church of which he was a member, by the Rev. Thomas Wicks and the Rev. Curtis Steelman. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Odell Pepper, Mrs. Thomas Slayten, and Mrs. G. Neeley, of Elkwood, Ala.; Mrs. Blanche Hobbs of New Shores, Ala.; Miss Goldie Baker and Mrs. Carldon Trentham, of Taft; three sons, I. J. Baker of Huntsville, Ala.; John R. Baker of Nacogdoches, Texas; and three brothers.
