SOUTH BEND - A loving Dad and Grandpa, Keith passed away at 9:47 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at his home within the loving arms of his daughter, Kathy, and surrounded by his family and friends. He was 80 years old. Keith, known to many as "Pete," was born on February 26, 1932 in Plymouth, Indiana to the late James Oscar and Ruth (Hite) Redman. On December 15, 1951 in South Bend he was united in marriage to Marilyn Joann Redman, who preceded him in death. Keith served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 aboard the U.S.S. Mindoro. Following his years in the service, he worked at Wheelabrator for twenty-eight years, Oliver's for eight years, and at Miles for nine years. He loved Notre Dame Football (he always thought he'd make the best coach), enjoyed watching NASCAR with his family, and was the best mushroom hunter in his day. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and was a sweet, caring, courageous, and honorable man. Keith was a member of the VFW Post #1162 Plymouth, Indiana. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Benn (Dave); son, Steve (Roni) Redman; step-sister, Nellie Marie Moore; four grandchildren, Mike (Sarah) Redman, Aaron (Colleen) Redman, Nick Redman, and Scott Redman; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Davis Redman and Violet Redman. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ruth Redman; his wife, Marilyn Joann Redman; and his brother, James E. Redman.
