"Uncle Al" Adams Passed Away
"Uncle Al" Adams, who has been in failing health for the past year and sent to the hospital last week, came back home and Sunday he passed away.
Albert Adams was born near this city, January 1, 1865, and was 78 years and 16 days old.
On January 16, 1887, he married Miss Louise Clenan Conrad, and seven children were born to them. Three died in infancy, and the mother died about 18 years ago.
Surviving are Mrs. Rufus Bell, with whom he had made his home since the death of his wife, Mrs. E. K. Morgan, Elton and Harry Adams, 3 grandchildren and one great grandson, 1 brother, W. T. Adams of Webb City, several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
When a young man, he was baptized into the Baptist Church at Boekerton. He was a member of the W. O. W. also. For a number of years, he operated a meat market in this city and became known as "Uncle Al."
Funeral services were held at the Rufus Bell home, at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon by Rev. John Hunter and burial was beside his wife in the city cemetery.
