Wife of Ray Asplin. Fern graduated from Council Hill High School in Muskogee Co., Oklahoma and Muskogee Beauty College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She owned beauty shops in Morris, Oklahoma and Boynton, Oklahoma. Her specialties were shampoos, manicures, and perms. During WWII she worked as a riveter at Consolidated Aircraft in Ft. Worth, Texas and at Douglas Aircraft at Tinker AFB in Midwest City, Oklahoma. In 1962, she passed the Oklahoma Real Estate exam and received her real estate license.
The children of Fern and Ray were: Paul Ray Asplin, Mary Sue (Asplin) Lambert, Elizabeth Ann (Asplin) Capron. Grandchildren: Amy Melissa Lambert Polo, Shelby Todd Lambert, Kristin Juliet Lambert, Brandon Sean Perkins, Shannon Heather Perkins, Danielle Marie Morrissette.
Great Grandchildren: Sofia Carmella Polo, Gabriel Polo, Bethany Kay Grace Lambert, Stephanie Elizabeth Haynes, Samuel Sean Haynes, and Sviatoslav Iuriyovych Chepela.
Fern died suddenly in Yellowtone National Park while on vacation with her husband Ray. Cause of death was due to a pulmonary embolism.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
