Born to Leland (Don) Donald Fielding Jr. and Sue Ann Lickiss Fielding. Brother to Timothy James Fielding.

Four little boys, playing on a Sunday afternoon. Who would have thought this would be the last time they played together on this earth. Leland, his brother Timothy, their 2 little friends Joseph and Christopher. Playing in a ditch on Dry Creek Road in Rio Linda, dug by PG&E to move their pipes due to the Sacramento County Flood Control. A new waterway was being built. This ditch was the source of attention to all the neighborhood children, teenagers alike. Many had played in this hole. It was quite large. Big enough for everyone to play. One of the children pulled on, what they thought was a branch, to lift themselves out of the ditch. Did they know Dry Creek Road was composed of "fill dirt." No. It caused the trench to collaps. PG&E had covered this large ditch with one piece of ply wood. Thankful we are, because this is how Timothy escaped. The other 3 children were crushed in this ditch, loosing their lives. We know God has them in Heaven, playing together. Leland was a testimony everywhere he went of his Faith in Jesus. He would want me to tell you, he will see you again, only if you have asked Jesus to come into your life.

Inscription

This was Leland's favorite Bible verse. He used it on many occasions witnessing to his friends, that whatever the situation was, they could succeed because of God.
Philipians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
