BONHAM - Funeral service for Cathy June Armstrong, 65, of Sherman will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas. Rev. Troy Miles will officiate the service; interment will follow at Randolph-Lindsey Cemetery. Mrs. Armstrong passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012 at her home in Sherman.
Cathy June (Tarpley) Armstrong was born on October 23, 1946 in Bonham to Tom and Edna Hope (Wright) Tarpley. She married William James Armstrong in November 1960 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1995. Mrs. Armstrong worked as a nurse's aide in the area nursing homes, and attended First Pentecostal Church of God in Bonham. Cathy will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by sons, James Michael Armstrong of Sherman, Stephen Mark Armstrong of Bailey, Keith Edward Armstrong of Savoy; daughter, Carla Marie Johnson of Sherman; son, Kenneth Neal Armstrong of Westminster; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Carroll Brown of Bonham; sister, Billie Tarpley of Sherman; and sister, Sue Roberts of Ravenna. She is also preceded in death by her parents, brother: Richard Wayne Brown, and sister: Grace Nell Tarpley.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Armstrong, Cody Petty, Corey Armstrong, Brandon Giney, David Fields, and Shawn Shores.
Family visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
