He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #284, Scott City Shrine Club, and a Past County Commissioner all of Scott City, Kansas. He was also a member of the KLA.
On July 7, 1950 he married Marilyn A. Swayze in Fort Knox, Kentucky. She passed away on September 7, 1980 in Aurora, Colorado. On January 5, 1982 he married Verla Blickenstaff-Lewallen in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include his Four Daughters - Connie & Norman Scott of Scott City, Kansas, Jodi & Danny Jones of Aurora, Colorado, Marianne & John Thompson of Chadron, Nebraska, Emily & Peter Chapman of Soquel, California, Two Step Sons - Jim Lewallen of Lake Tapawingo, Missouri, Jeff Lewallen of Bates City, Missouri, Two Step Daughters - Judy Werner of Independence, Missouri, Jaque Hildebrand of Blue Springs, Missouri, Six Grandchildren, Twelve Step Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren, Nine Step Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and One Grandson – Tyler Jones.
Funeral Service will be held at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 with Steve Payne presiding.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Scott County Library or Scott County Historical Society % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
