Russell Brenneman was born June 11, 1915 at Bittinger, MD, the son of Simon P. and Susan (Klotz) Brenneman. He had a grade school education and one year of high school. He was a farmer and also did work as a Blacksmith. He and Mary lived near Bittinger, and attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Russell died 6 April 1993 on his farm at Bittinger of a self inflicted gunshot wound and is buried in the Bittinger Cemetery next to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. There are three daughters: Caolyn Sue, Doris Opel Kearn; Ruth Opel Detrick.
