He married LaVonne Barton on Nov. 12, 1954, in Russell. He worked in the oil fields in the Russell area, moving to Colorado in 1964 where he was employed as an engineer for IBM. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Russell, Masonic Lodge, Bunker Hill, and American Legion, Kansas City.
Survivors include his wife, Boulder; two sons, Kendall, Russell, and Bradley, Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, Rhonda Storey, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Steve Buehler, Hutchinson; a sister, Arlene Ubert, Wichita; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Barnhardt.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Russell, with the Rev. Harlan Kaden officiating; burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Pohlman's Mortuary, Russell, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
