Richard Lee Dean, Campbellsville, son of the late Harley and Matilda Dean, was born Feb. 9, 1934 and died Sunday, May 24 at SpringView Hospital in Lebanon.

Dean was also preceded in death by two step-sons, Donnie and Ricky Holly and a sister, Mae Kolkman.

Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Dean, Campbellsville; three sons, Richard Lee Dean Jr. and James Henry Dean, both of Indiana, and Martin Reed Dean of Colorado; two daughters, Vicky Webb and Carol Dean, both of Campbellsville; step-children, Terry Holly, Edmonton, and Kathy and Kalvin Shoopman of West Virginia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Elmer Norwald of Indiana; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Jesus Name Church by Elders Ruel Boils, Ronnie Gowen and Jimmy Sharp, with burial in Jesus Name Cemetery. Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers: Donovan Lee Dean, Jonathan Holly, Jeremy Shoopman, Allen Wilson, Joseph Rice, Jimmy Squires and Darren Durbin.
