Elder (Rev) John Hix, son of Ephraim Hix and Sarah Kingsley. Married on 5 Jun 1735 in Rehoboth to Hannah Galusha, dau. of Jacob Galusha and Sarah Read/Reed. He became a minister of his church that he built and maintained it for many years until such time is health failed him when his son Jacob took over the running of the church with another minister of the Word.
John and Hannah are the parents of seven children all born in Rehoboth. Most all kept the Hix spelling but Nathan and his branch changed the spelling to Hicks.
