James was born December 16, 1936, in South Bend, IN, to Boniface and Harriett (Niespodziany) Dudeck, and was a lifelong area resident. December 28, 1957, in Holy Family Catholic Church, South Bend, IN, he married Suzanne Marie Kruszewski, who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, James (Lori) Dudeck, Jr., of LaPorte, IN; Michael (Jewel Gilbert) Dudeck, of LaPorte, IN; William (Analyn) Dudeck, of Goshen, IN; Andrew (Jeff Behling) Dudeck, of Valparaiso, IN; and Jon (Victoria) Dudeck, of Chesterton, IN; nine grandchildren – Amanda (Josh) Gray, Adam Dudeck, Nicole Dudeck, Katlyn Dudeck, Victoria Dudeck , Phillip Dudeck, Tucker Sawyer, Lucas Sawyer, and Hunter Dudeck; two great-grandchildren – Keith Harvey and Jayce Hochstetler; and two sisters – Joan (Robert) Beckner, of Swartz Creek, MI; and Phyllis (Edmund) Luczkowski, of South Bend. James was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dudeck.
James was a 1956 graduate of New Carlisle High School. He retired in 2000 from A.M. General, where he was employed for thirty-one years. He was a lifetime member of both the American Legion Post #297 and the D.A.V. Chapter #19.
