QUEENSBURY -- Linda M. Cook, 95, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury.
Born Oct. 27, 1916, in Granville, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Eva May (Eastman) Chatterton.
Some of her enjoyments included knitting and horseracing. She also enjoyed attending church at Kingsbury Wesleyan Church.
Linda will be remembered as a very caring person, being fondly referred to as "Grandmother of the Townhouses."
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Cook, who passed away in 1981, two daughters, Marion Stewart and Laura Mae Cook, two sons, Herman and Ernest Cook, and one grandson, Doug Stewart.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Matsushighige, and her husband, Kouichi, of Northfolk, Va.; three sons, David Cook and his wife, Jean, of Bennington, Vt., Arthur Cook and his wife, Linda, of Rutland, Vt., and Albert Cook and his companion, Shelia, of Queensbury; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call upon the family today, Feb. 23, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 24,2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Loren Gage, pastor of Kingsbury Wesleyan Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Hudson Falls.
