James Gregory "Greg" Pflughaupt, a native Houstonian and long-time resident of Hockley, Texas, unexpectedly left this earth for his heavenly home early on the morning of February 22, 2012.
Greg was born on November 14, 1959 to William Harold Pflughaupt and Annie Mae Petersen and grew up in the Spring Branch area of Houston. He graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1978, and from the University of Houston's Police Academy in 1989. On May 15, 1982, Greg married his sweetheart, Laura Ann Stone in Houston.
Greg leaves a grieving family, including Laura Pflughaupt, his beloved wife of nearly 30 years; four children, Justin Michael and daughter-in-law Catherine of Waller, Kaitlyn Marie, Chad William, and Eric Timothy; mother, Annie Mae Pflughaupt of Hockley; brother, Wayne Pflughaupt and wife Donna of Katy; sister Sharon Pyle and husband Dwight of Baytown; father-in-law, Dennis Stone of Houston; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Chambers of Houston and Karen Stone of Houston. Greg was preceded in death by his beloved father and brother, W.H. Pflughaupt and Gary Lee Pflughaupt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. A service to honor and remember Greg will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, with Ryan Pflughaupt officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery at 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, Texas 77055.
