My Aunt Sandy was the youngest of twelve children. She was hard-working and knew what she wanted out of life. As a teenager she moved from Rothville to Kansas City, moving in with her big brother, Bud, (my grampa) and his wife Peggy. She graduated from Raytown High School and went on to start a career. She was devoted to her family of birth, as well as to the family she created with her husband Al Downey. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the late stages, and passed from this earth on Valentine's Day, 2001.She is buried near her parents, Wesley Sr. and Lizzie.
