VERONA — Mrs. Helena Eberhardt, 73, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Bigler, New Glarus, Thursday after a three week illness. She has been a resident of Verona for 22 years.
Mrs. Eberhardt was born in Barron, Germany, and when a child moved with her parents to Switzerland. In 1893 she came to America, and was married to Adolph Eberhardt in New York City. The first 10 years was spent in New Glarus. Mr. Eberhardt died Nov. 16, 1931, at Verona.
Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Clara Wild, and Mrs. Anna Warner, Madison; Mrs. Mary Bigler, New Glarus; Mrs. Bertha Bigler, Blue Mounds; Mrs. Lena Wuthrich, Verona, and Mrs. Rose Avang, Mt. Horeb; three sons, Ed, Shawano; Fred, Auburn, N.Y., and Ernest, Jim Falls; 36 grandchildren, and 15 greatgrandchildren. Five grandsons are in service.
A son, Maj. Adolph Eberhardt, was accidently killed while serving in the Army Air Forces in Georgia, April 10, 1934.
Burial will be in Verona cemetery.
