Melvyn Joseph Albiston, 79, of West Duluth, died Monday, April 1, 2002, in Lake Haven Manor. He was born in Soda Springs, Idaho to George and Jessie (Hyde) Albiston. Melvyn came to Duluth in 1946 and worked at the US Steel Plant retiring in 1976 after 30 years of service. He served in the Marines during WWII. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post 71.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alyce, in 2000, a grandson, Scott Albiston, and brothers Norman and George.
Melvyn is survived by his sonsL Melvyn Jr. (Elaine), Robert Allen Sr. (Ardyce) and Gary (Cindi); sisters: Louise, Bernice and Joy; grandchildren: Robert Allen Jr., Dawn, Sheila, Brent, Sean, and Todd; and eight great grandchildren.
Inurnment was in Oneota Cemetery.
