Services for Robert Heath "Bob" Tabor, 97, of Tyler, were held Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Pulliam officiating. Masonic graveside rites and military honors followed at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Tabor went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, in Tyler. He was born Sept. 12, 1913, in Palmer, Mass., to the late Robert A. and Pearl Kimball Tabor. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed at Camp Fannin. He was an engineer tech with General Electric in Tyler, was a member of Tyler Masonic Lodge and a member of First Christian Church in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Close Tabor.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Carleen and Dale Garrett of Killeen; two grandchildren, Laura Michelle Garrett of Newport Beach, Calif., and Michael Heath Garrett and his wife Stephanie of Killeen; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Heath Garrett and Sophia Michelle Garrett; and a nephew, Tommy W. Long of Tyler.
