Lila M. Johnston 1915-2012 Lila M. Johnston, age 96, died at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, Mass., where she has been residing for the past six years. Lila was born in Fargo, N.D. on August 7, 1915. She was the daughter of Laura and Albert Corliss. Lila lived and worked in Fargo and married her first husband Irvin Hagen in 1938. They had one daughter, Sandra Louise Hagen (now Willbrant). Mr. Hagen died in 1941. In 1946, Lila met and married Donald L. Johnston and shortly thereafter they moved to Pittsfield, where they resided for more than 50 years. Donald died in 1997. Don and Lila had two daughters, Patricia Renee and Virginia Jean. Lila was a homemaker, an excellent bridge player, an avid reader, an occasional golfer, and a flower gardener. She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra of Strafford, Pa., Patricia of Williamstown, Vt., and Virginia of Billerica, Mass., Sandra's husband Bruce Willbrant, Patricia's spouse, Lydia English, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. The grandchildren include: Gerald Willbrant and his wife, Margaret of Londonderry, N.H., Wendy Willbrant of King of Prussia, Pa., Ian Menchini of Melrose, Mass., Zachary Menchini of New York, N.Y., Laura Sorafine and her husband, Josh, of Groveland, Mass., and Joseph Bernardo of Amman, Jordan. Lila's great grandchildren are Andrew Willbrant of Nottingham, N.H., Joel Willbrant of Londonderry, N.H., and Lila Sorafine of Groveland, Mass. FUNERAL NOTICE: The family will be present for a calling hour from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Wellington Funeral Home, 220 East Street, Pittsfield, MA on Saturday, February 18. An Episcopal service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Hannah Anderson, pastor of St. Stephens Episcopal Church officiating.
