CYRUS HENRY BUSHMAN , resident of Coleta for many years, suffered a heart attack Friday [01/15/1954] morning and died Saturday morning at Palmetto, Fla., where he and Mrs. Bushman were spending the winter. Tentative plans are to hold the funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Coleta Christian Church. The Rev. Harry E. Shiffer, pastor of the Rock Falls Christian Church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. R. K. Kistler, pastor of the Coleta Christian Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Sterling. Arrangements are being made by the Woodin Funeral Home in Milledgeville. He was born May 25, 1875, the son of Charles and Susan Mull Bushman, and was married to Ola Linerode of Coleta on Nov. 19, 1896. She died in August 1934 and was followed in death by their son, Rothmer L. Bushman, who died in November 1951. On Mar. 15, 1935, he was married to Mrs. Bertha Garwick. Mr. Bushman was assessor for Genesee Township for many years and president of the Coleta Village Board for over 20 years. He was a member of the Coleta Christian Church in which he served as Sunday School superintendent for several years. At the time of his death he was an elder and a member of the church board. Mr. Bushman was a carpenter by trade. Surviving are his wife; two brothers, Lloyd of Milledgeville and William of Dixon; a foster daughter, Mrs. Virgil Patch of Danville, Ind.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Merle Linton of Coleta; and three step-daughters, Mrs. John Quincy Hubbard, Mrs. Chester Lenhart and Mrs. John Speer, all of Coleta. Funeral services will be Thursday [01/21/1954] at 2 p.m. at the Coleta Christian Church, with Rev. Harry Shiffer, pastor of the Rock Falls Christian Church, assisted by Rev. Ray Kistler, Coleta, presiding. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
